yuletide '14

heyyy. B) i am a pretty easy-to-please person so don't worry too much about writing for me!! if you matched with me you've already got gr8 taste in fandoms, so whatever you come up with, i'm sure i'll enjoy it~
some general likes/dislikes to get the ball rolling:
I LOVE
* worldbuilding
* character studies
* present tense (though obvs i know this isn't for everyone, so feel free to disregard)
* understated/"less is more" romance
* complex platonic relationships
* drama/angst (though i like fluff as well!)
* tropes i enjoy: found family, domesticity, pining and/or unrequited love, loyalty, hero worship, "us against the world," presumed dead, hurt/comfort (physical & mental hurt both welcome), time travel, butterfly effect/fork in the road AUs, characters who suffer ~nobly for the good of someone else

Kamen Rider 555
Inui Takumi, Kiba Yuuji
555 was my first kamen rider, so despite its issues it has a very special place in my heart. and yuutaku is THE otp by far. really i'd just... love to read something about them not written by me? if you don't ship them that's completely fine - i love the two of them in a gen capacity as well. obviously this is a relationship that lends itself to misery, which i am totally down with. also one that lends itself to canon divergent AUs, because, well. you know. a happy AU where kiba never goes to the dark side, or a violently depressing AU where he "wins" and continues down that unfortunate path rather than sacrificing himself... i'm equally interested in both those options. or hell, something set during canon - introspective musings, scenes we didn't get to see, etc. etc. i have seen paradise lost, which actually leads me to my favorite part about the yuutaku relationship: the "connected by fate" aspect. the way things play out so similarly in the alternate universe of the movie... i don't know. it just seems like they were doomed to end up that way, no matter the circumstances? (reincarnation fic could be incredible for them.) i love this idea of people destined to care about each other but to never be happy, for it to always go sour in every possible universe. or maybe i'm doing this whole "otp" thing wrong ;)
(sidenotes: i love takumi & mari's friendship, and kiba's "guardian" relationship withhis children yuka & kaidou. and just recently i watched showa vs. heisei, so i'm aware of takumi's situation there. i actually headcanon him as suffering from clinical depression, so. throwin' that out there just in case. i am definitely not looking for issuefic tho)

Nogami Koutarou, Teddy
normally when i request shippy stuff i include a "platonic is fine too" caveat, but... i just can't do it with these two. they're basically canon in my mind, and i can't really think of their relationship as anything other than romantic? this is another one where i'd honestly be happy with anything, since fanworks for them are pretty much nonexistent. i'd love to get a glimpse into what their day to day life is like, whether as den-o or in the downtime in between. what's koutarou's life like beyond den-o? does he go to college, or have a regular job on the side? does anyone close to him (other than ryoutarou) know about his superhero gig? i'm guessing episode blue-aged koutarou must be from the year 2060 or so? maybe a bit later? so any little worldbuilding details about futuristic stuff would be very cute~
basically... i'm looking for fluff for these two. i have so many depressing kamen rider ships, y'know? so i cling to kouteddy as one of the few truly happy exceptions. i'm sure there would be some difficulties, of course - the complexities of maintaining an imagin/human romance and all that - but generally i can't imagine too much drama in their lives, now that they've gotten the character development of episode blue out of the way.
(sidenotes: i have also seen onigashima warship, episode red, episode yellow, saraba, climax deka, & of course the entire main series. i have yet to watch the den-o/OOO movie but probably will sometime soon. as far as other relationships go, koutarou bonding with his grandfather over their shared experiences is always a plus. and teddy interacting with any of the other imagin! i think him and deneb would be really adorable friends ♥)

Hurdy | Gurdy
as the one who nominated ffcc, mayyybe i kinda cheated by nominating hurdy & gurdy as one character. ;o i mean, technically they share the same body, right? but i do consider them to be two very separate entities, so. idk. either way, they are the NPCs that interested me most in ffcc, a game i played as a kid but only recently saw through to the end. when i was younger it was just a fun distraction, but playing it again as an adult opened my eyes to how eerie and unsettling it really is: this bright, colourful world that's so much darker beneath the surface, where people's memories are constantly slipping away.
i'd love pretty much anything about hurdy & gurdy. pre-canon fic of his (whatever his name once was) journey with leon/the black knight - how they met, what their relationship was like (friendly or just business?), what happened during their encounter with raem (obviously it didn't end well, but maybe they came close to defeating him?). conversely, i'd love something mindfuck-y set during canon. are either of the two personalities aware of the other? i could've sworn some of gurdy's dialogue implied that he knew about his other self, but what about hurdy? how does he explain away the lost time - hours and even days he can't account for, going to sleep one place and waking up somewhere else? (finding scribbled fragments of poems in his pockets, in his own handwriting, but not being able to decipher what they mean.) how does he reconcile his preaching about the importance of memory with his own inability to remember anything at all?
(sidenotes: i didn't request him, but a bigger focus on the black knight would be cool, too. both he and hurdy/gurdy went mad because of their memory loss, but the end result was so different - one of them splitting himself in two to cope, the other filling up that emptiness with blind rage. "i will die a hollow man. where will my spirit go?" is a quote i'll never forget. man, ffcc is some weirdly grim shit)
so... yeah. that's about it, i guess!
